Karina Tibble, licensed Professional counselor
I am a bilingual psychotherapist and play therapist, a mindfulness meditation instructor and a women’s group facilitator. Beyond these professional identities, I am a woman who grew up in war torn Colombia, and yet, from a young age realized the greatest battles I would face would be the ones occurring inside me. This scary realization inspired me to delve deeply into my own journey of healing, where I learned to peel back the layers of defense and contraction that protected me for years and come home to my body and birth a life of deep joy and self-love. Today, I am passionate about accompanying other women and children on their own journey toward healing and living a wholehearted life.
For more than a decade I have worked with women, families, adolescents and children in various clinical settings in different countries. I have received a cutting-edge mindfulness-based education at Naropa University, the Boulder Center for Play Therapy and the Somatic Training Institute. These experiences, combined with my personal path, contribute to my unique approach to psychotherapy and healing. I love what I do and am committed to creating a sacred, transformational space for my clients' process to unfold.
My Healing Manifesto:
Mindfulness is medicine. Be here now. This very moment is all you have, and it is full of potential!
The body speaks. Your body is infinitely wise. By slowing down and learning to listen to the body's messages, you can discover a completely new way of being and trusting in yourself.
Self-attachment is the way to a happier you. The extent to which you can connect to and accept yourself is the extent to which you can connect to and accept others.
There is nothing wrong with you. I believe in the basic goodness you possess and the innate brilliance that has allowed you to go through everything you have to be here today. You are perfect just as you are.
Your deepest struggles are your greatest gifts. It took me a long time to come to terms with this truth. Trust and surrender are a vital part of this process.
Your emotions are longing to be felt. Emotions are energy that wants to move. As big and scary as your emotions may seem, by turning toward them in a supported and mindful way and giving them some loving attention, you can free yourself from a life of constriction and pain.
Vulnerability pays off. It is through the discomfort of being cracked open that you can re-awaken to a new way of being where authenticity and joy lead the way for a life of happiness and wellbeing.
I am aware that reaching out can be scary. Know that I will honor you and your process with great care.
