A Goddess to alchemize these challenging times

There is a Goddess who knows deep grief. Out of the heartbreaking despair of losing her beloved Osiris and with a wild longing to put his dismembered body back together, she grows a powerful pair of wings to fly through the worlds and accomplish her mission. Her name is Isis. She is as ancient as the Egyptian pyramids and as close as your breath.

What current challenge is inspiring you to grow and use your wings?

Isis is a Goddess to call upon during these extraordinarily challenging times. Times when the veils have lifted and we are seeing and feeling the beauty and the undeniable vulnerability of being alive. Alive in these tender bodies that carry unmetabolized grief from this life but also from our ancestral lines. What has been ignored and pushed away is in our face, beckoning us to relate to it and heal it...through love.

Isis is a Mother. Once she brings her lover’s dismembered body back to wholeness, they make beautiful love and conceive a child. Unfortunately, Osiris cannot come back to the world of the living and Isis makes sure he has a safe passage to the afterlife. 9 months later, she births their son, Horus.

Life. Death. Rebirth.

Isis is also a Queen. Rooted in her sovereignty, she takes care of her people by infusing her Queendom with values of collaboration and Earth-based spirituality. Her reverence for Mama Gaia is her greatest ally and inspiration and as her proud daughter, she also teaches us about the miracle of inhabiting these feminine bodies. Cyclical, life-giving, creative and with the capacity to experience it all. From earth-shattering grief to blissful pleasure, Isis inspires us to surrender deeper and deeper to our feminine wisdom.

As you can see, Isis’s medicine is multi-faceted. She is a force of nature that we can seek refuge in over and over again, as we continue to say YES to surrendering to the losses, the fatigue and the undeniable medicine of these times.

A few suggestions to deepen your connection with this Queen Goddess:

~ Make an altar to her. Invite her into your life. Add feathers to symbolize her wings and water to celebrate your creative wombs. Sprinkle your altar with things that bring you pleasure like rose water and moon-charged stones. Visit the altar and open up to Her guidance. Subtle, consistent courting leads to experiencing Her powerful presence more and more in your life.

~ On your journal, explore the following questions:

  1. What am I grieving? What have I lost? Have I allowed myself to feel these losses fully? What would help me surrender?

  2. What in me needs mothering right now? And how can I give this to myself in a simple, available way?

  3. What is being born? Even if it's still mysterious and unclear? What are the subtle shifts/knowings arising from deep within?

  4. What does sovereignty feel like?

  5. What am I saying YES and NO to in my life that is rooted in my sovereignty?
